In June 2005, Mikhail Kononov held an exhibition of his works at Schloss Holligen in Berne. In the context of this beautiful castle, his Russian and Swiss landscapes presented themselves splendidly.

The opening was a special feature of a musical and literary event under the theme “Love in Russian culture”, organized by the Mostok group of Berne. The lecture of enchanting literary works and the impressive performance of harpsicord tunes ideally combined with the view of Kononov’s pictures that adorned the walls surrounding the large audience. His works captured scenes of exceptional beauty, and were admired for the intensity of the impressions they conveyed
