From November 14 to 16, 2003, Mikhail presented his works at Langenthal. Local companies organized a series of exhibitions and events dedicated to Russia. Mikhail exhibited part of his pictures in the lavishly decorated flower hall Häusermann; the flowers and landscapes on canvas competed with the splendour of the plants around them. The vernissage, with the participation of musicians, attracted clients of the flower hall as well as art lovers and friends of Russia.

At the same time, a selection of Mikhail’s pictures were on show at the exhibition of art in Langenthalís Design Center. There, the Russian painters Igor and Alexey Novikov as well as the Swiss photographer Elisabeth Calder also presented their works.

On the second day, a Saturday, a Gala Evening at the sold-out Design Center Hall combined the exhibitions with a Russian dinner and program of folklore, music and dance. Yuri Soloviev, deputy ambassador of Russia in Berne, and Hans-Jürg Käser, Mayor of Langenthal, were guests of honor. 200 persons attended the Gala Evening, many more visited the exhibition. Mikhail enjoyed the stimulating encounters with them, and appreciated the interest they showed in his works.
